Yardgazing is built to help people discover nearby displays and help hosts grow their audience. This policy explains, in simple terms, what information we collect, how we use it, and what we hand off to third parties.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to run Yardgazing and improve the experience. That can include account information such as your name, email address, and profile details; location and display information submitted by hosts; reviews, votes, comments, messages, and other content you choose to post; and basic technical or usage information related to how people use the site.

Analytics

Right now, our primary analytics tool is Google Analytics. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, referral sources, and how people interact with the site. We use that information to understand what is working, improve discovery, and make the product better over time.

How we use information

We use information to operate Yardgazing, personalize the experience, surface more relevant content, support moderation and safety, and help people discover displays they are more likely to enjoy. As the product grows, we may collect additional information and use it in more ways, including tailoring content and, later on, showing relevant ads or sponsored placements. We do not sell personal information.

Payments, cards, and bank information

If you buy something through Yardgazing, tip a host, subscribe to VIP content, or connect payout information as a host, sensitive payment and banking information is handled by Stripe and its systems, not stored directly by Yardgazing. That includes card details and bank connection details. We may receive limited transaction-related information from Stripe, such as payment status, amounts, or payout status, so we can operate the platform and support customers.

Cookies and browser storage

We do use cookies and similar browser storage. Today that includes authentication and session-related cookies used through Supabase so people can log in and stay signed in, and analytics-related technologies connected to Google Analytics. We also use browser storage such as local storage or session storage for product features like search state, route building, and saving in-progress review text on your device.

How this may change

Yardgazing is still growing. As we add new features, monetization tools, advertising systems, or creator tools, the kinds of data we collect and the ways we use it may expand. When that happens, we will update this policy so it reflects how the product actually works.
